Sara M Multerer, MD

After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame, Sara received her medical degree from Indiana University and then moved to Louisville for her pediatric residency training at University of Louisville. Upon completion of her residency, Sara was elected Richard S. Wolf Chief Resident and Lecturer for the program. At the end of her tenure as Chief Resident, Sara stayed on the faculty at the University of Louisville as a pediatric hospitalist with special interests in patient safety and quality improvement as well as resident education. As such, Sara has led several efforts in these areas and is an active member of the Norton Children's Hospital Patient Safety Committee and the Department of Pediatrics Morbidity and Mortality committee.



Sara was an Associate Program Director for the pediatric residency program for eight years before transitioning to the role of Program Director in 2017. Sara's focus is the development of resident-driven quality improvement projects as well as the oversight and implementation of the new Individualized Curriculum.
