Sable C Iglesias, APRN, DNP, CPHON

Sable C. Iglesias, DNP, APRN, CPHON, joined Norton Children’s Cancer Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, in 2022 as a nurse practitioner. In 2018, she earned the distinction of being a certified pediatric hematology/oncology nurse.

Sable graduated from University of Louisville with two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in nursing and later her doctorate in nursing practice. During college, she volunteered at Norton Children’s Hospital through Project Sunshine, a national nonprofit organization aimed at “bringing joy and play to pediatric patients.”

Sable has worked as a registered nurse at the Addison Jo Blair Cancer Care Center in Norton Children’s Hospital, caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors and sickle cell disease as well as those receiving bone marrow transplants and cellular therapy. She also previously worked as a patient care associate in the cancer unit.

A Louisville native, Sable dreamed of becoming a pediatric oncology nurse since high school. She was heavily involved with organizing her school’s dance marathon that benefited pediatric cancer. She considering studying music therapy, but after her choir director was diagnosed with lymphoma, she changed her career goal.

Outside of caring for patients, Sable has a passion for music, television or movie marathons; hiking; and cooking and baking. She also loves spending time with her family, friends and dogs.
