Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Morgan Kopka, RDN, L.D., CDCES, is a pediatric clinical dietitian for Wendy Novak Diabetes Institute, a part of Norton Children’s Endocrinology, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine.
Morgan primarily works with children and teenagers and their families to provide comprehensive diabetes care and education, specifically around nutrition, diabetes management, lifestyle and behavior modification, and acute/chronic complication management and prevention. She also helps patients manage their care using advanced diabetes technologies, such as continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in dietetics from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She completed an internship in dietetics at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and is working toward a master’s degree in dietetics and nutrition, which she will complete in May 2024.
Prior to joining Norton Children’s in July 2022, Morgan was a clinical dietitian at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. She performed nutritional assessment and reassessments for pediatric patients in multiple areas, including general medical/surgical, behavioral health and rehabilitation units.
In her off time, Morgan enjoys reading, cooking, going for walks and working out.
