Misty D Ellis, APRN

Misty D. Ellis, DNP, APRN, CPNP-AC/PC, is a nurse practitioner with Norton Children’s Critical Care, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisville School of Nursing, her master’s degree in nursing from Northern Kentucky University School of Nursing, Highland Heights, and her doctorate in nursing practice from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Nashville, Tennessee. Misty also is board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
With a focus on pediatric critical care, Misty has garnered extensive experience in caring for children with congenital heart disease. She is a strong advocate for child- and family-centered care. She collaborates with providers to prioritize patient safety, health equity and positive family experiences.
Outside of work, Misty enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and boating, and values quality time with her family.
