Laura C Workman, MD

Dr. Laura Workman joined the University of Louisville as faculty in 2012. In her clinical time, she serves as a hospitalist at the University of Louisville as well as Norton Children’s Hospital.  She has a primary interest in medical education and served as the Associate Program Director for the Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program for 2 years prior to stepping into her role as Program Director in 2014.   As the Program Director of the Med-Peds Residency, she has continued to recruit excellent med-peds residents from all over the country.  Dr. Workman is currently working on improving the transitions of care from pediatric to adult care curriculum within the med-peds program.  As a part of this work, the med-peds residency program is serving as a participating site in the national Health Care Transition Residency Curriculum Collaborative Improvement Network (HCT Curriculum CoIN).  She is also working on several hospital based quality improvement committees through Norton Children’s Hospital.
