Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Katherine “Kate” Price, Psy.D., HSP, is a pediatric psychologist with Norton Children’s Behavioral & Mental Health. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in health psychology from Spalding University in Louisville, completed her internship at Nemours Children’s Hospital, in Wilmington, Delaware, and a fellowship in pediatric psychology at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri.
Dr. Price is dedicated to supporting children, adolescents and families in managing the psychological impact of acute and chronic illnesses. Her clinical experience focuses on providing psychosocial care for young patients with complex medical conditions, particularly gastroenterological concerns. She has specialized training in addressing eating difficulties, including avoidant restrictive food intake disorder and anorexia nervosa. Additionally, Dr. Price also is experienced in treating children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, adjustment concerns and behavioral issues related to sleep, toileting and feeding.
She uses evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and parent management training. Dr. Price adopts a strengths-based, solution-focused perspective in her work with individuals, groups and families, aiming to foster resilience and support their unique health journeys.
