Biography/ Philosophy of Care

Dr. Potter joined the faculty of the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2007 and has served as the Fellowship Program Director for Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and a clinician teacher in the pediatric intensive care unit. She has written and revised multiple curricula for the fellowship program including a clinical curriculum; a non-clinical curriculum dealing with topics such as billing/coding, teaching methods, grant writing, clinical research, and quality improvement, as well as collaboratively created a simulation boot camp for incoming PCCM and pediatric emergency medicine fellows to better prepare them for fellowship. This program has expanded to include training regarding difficult conversations.



Dr. Potter's interest in teaching the adult learner has led her to teach faculty at the Department of Pediatrics and School of Medicine. She has presented educational research at the regional and national level on topics relating to resident, fellow and nursing education.
