Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Local educational endeavors include pediatric critical care nursing orientation and high-tech courses, resident procedural skills teaching, and AHA pediatric advanced life support. She is also currently a site director for the University of Louisville Emergency Medical Services fellowship program.
Along with members of the Just For Kids Transport Team, Dr. Orman travels around the region with a portable simulation mannequin to educate physicians, nurses, EMS personnel and healthcare students in acute care pediatric scenarios.
She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Sections of Critical Care and Transport Medicine, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Orman and her husband, Dr. Shands Orman, an anesthesiologist, have 2 wonderful teenage daughters, 2 dogs, a cat and multiple fish. They enjoy traveling, with a goal of visiting all 50 states as a family; geocaching; watching Marvel movies; and cooking new recipes.
