Biography/ Philosophy of Care

Dr. John Gallehr joined the University of Louisville Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2013.  His clinical responsibilities include psychiatrist for the pediatric psychiatry and psychology consult liaison service for Norton Children’s Hospital.  He provides psychiatric consultations for children with numerous medical issues including transplantation, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, cardiology and infectious disease.  He also provides consultation services for the intensive care unit and emergency department.  Dr. Gallehr provides inpatient psychiatric services for children and adolescents on the dedicated psychiatry unit 6 C.

Autism, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Tourette’s, Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Depression, Obsessive – Compulsive disorder, Trauma work, Somatic disorders, anorexia and bulimia, sleep-wake disorders, substance abuse, personality disorders, gender issues, maternal –infant bonding, post partum depression.
