Biography/ Philosophy of Care
James P. Tucker, M.D. earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, and a medical degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and completed his pediatric residency with the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Tucker is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Greater Louisville Medical Society, the IN State Medical Association, and the KY Medical Association. He is board certified in pediatrics.
A native of Central Illinois, Dr. Tucker enjoys participation in church and family activities with his beautiful wife and teenage son and daughter. He also enjoys running, watching baseball games, and working in the yard. Dr. Tucker's goal is to serve patients and their families with dignity and respect. He strives to provide quality care to achieve the best health outcomes for those he sees.

Dr Tucker has taken great care of both our children. I appreciate him even calling us after hours about tests we had on our newborn that required further looking into and he kept up on that in a timely manner.

Dr. Tucker is very nice and remembers [...] and his passion for sports and stats! It's great to have a provider who actually gets to know the patient and socializes with the children instead of just the parent.

Doctor Tucker was exceptional He took the time to talk to us and ask questions to get a better understanding of the issue my child was having. I know that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is no longer a concern in many places. However, I appreciate the care that was provided to my child and that I was treated appropriately.

We really like Dr. Tucker. He does a great job at informing us without adding judgment type language. We have reduced screen time in the house because of conversations with him.
