Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Jamie A. Shoup, M.D., is a pediatric epilepsy neurologist with Norton Children’s Neuroscience Institute. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also completed residencies in pediatrics and child neurology, and an epilepsy fellowship.
Dr. Shoup specializes in neonatal and pediatric epilepsy, with a particular interest in autism spectrum disorder. His philosophy of care is patient- and family-centered, emphasizing the importance of clear communication to establish and achieve unique care goals. Dr. Shoup is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care that addresses the needs and values of each patient and their family.

The doctor we saw was amazing with my daughter, I've felt like nobody was taking me serious enough & I was becoming frustrated, with him he took the time to listen to me, talk to us & explain everything including showing us results that we haven't seen before, he did a full work up on her & we left feeling more confident.

Our son was recently switched to Dr Shoop when Dr. Karacas left the practice. Dr. Shoop was as good as Dr. Karacas ever was. It was a seamless transition. We felt our son was well cared for.

Dr. Shoup is the best physician I have ever interacted with. My child and I genuinely look forward to check ups with him. He knows everything there is to know about my child, he's kind and listens to every minute detail of my concerns as a parent. He interacts with my child as if she were his own family. I have and will recommend Dr. Shoup to anyone I know with a pediatric client who has autism or epilepsy. Seriously, whatever you pay this man, double it. We live two hours away- and I would drive 6 if it meant keeping him as our doctor.

Dr. Shoup was amazing with Isabella. It helped to have someone who understood her genetic disorder and her other diagnosis. He spent time not only making a plan with me as a parent but he also included isabella in the conversation. She was upset about more medicine but understood why and felt empowered!
