Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Elyssa G. Lewis, MGC, CGC, is a certified genetic counselor with Norton Children’s Genetics Center, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and her master’s in genetic counseling from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. Elyssa is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors.
In addition to her work in research and public speaking and outreach, Elyssa has clinical experience in general, pediatric, cancer and prenatal genetic counseling.
Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Elyssa chose genetic counseling as a career because she loves working with unique populations and is passionate about patient education, which allows for people to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.
