Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Adriana McCubbin, M.D., is the chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. In addition to her clinical role, she is an assistant professor of pediatrics at UofL’s School of Medicine.
She leads the Norton Children’s Allergy & Immunology outpatient clinic, while assisting with two multidisciplinary clinics (Severe Asthma and Eosinophilic Esophagitis). She oversees newborn screenings for severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) for the western half of Kentucky and consults with patients who have high-risk newborn screen results for SCID.
Her primary clinical interest and expertise is in food allergies, eczema and primary immunodeficiency disorders. She also has an interest in allergic skin diseases, immunology (assessing and treating primary immunodeficiencies), and food allergies.
Dr. McCubbin is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology in allergy and immunology. She is a fellow of both the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Dr. McCubbin graduated in 2002 from the University of Louisville with her medical degree. She completed her residency in pediatrics at UofL in 2005 and then served as an allergy and immunology fellow at the University of South Florida College of Medicine for three years.
