Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Dr. Scott Duncan attended medical school at the University of Louisville, where he completed his residency and fellowship. He spent 13 years in private practice before returning to Louisville in 2004. He completed a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health in 2011. He was promoted to Professor in 2017. Dr. Duncan was awarded the Rounsvall Endowed Professorship and became Division Chief of Neonatal Medicine in 2018. His primary areas of interest are the clinical applications of Near Infrared Spectroscopy, and health services research with a focus on quality improvement, healthcare finance and policy.
