Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Mckenzie Mattingly Stieneker, DNP, APRN, is a nurse practitioner with Norton Children’s Heart Institute. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing and her doctorate in nursing from the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, Lexington. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
Mckenzie provides heart care for children from infancy through adolescence. She collaborates with cardiologists and other specialists to support the best outcomes for her young patients. Her approach to patient care centers on treating each family with the same respect, compassion and attentiveness she would expect for her own daughter. She ensures that her patients and their families leave each appointment feeling informed, empowered and supported.
Outside of work, Mckenzie enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and daughter, Saylor, along with their fluffy cat, Binxlee. She is an avid swimmer, dancer and reader, and also loves antiquing and exploring the community. Her favorite Disney character is Marie from “The Aristocats,” a choice inspired by her cat’s playful personality.
