Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Dr. McGowan joined the University of Louisville faculty in 2013. She is the current Inpatient and Outpatient medical director with focus on safety and improving processes for optimal patient experience. She primarily focuses on children diagnosed with sarcomas and solid tumors. Her other clinical focus areas include sickle cell disease and thrombosis in children.

Clinical: Management of patients with sarcomas and solid tumors; management of hematologic and oncologic disorders in children; chemotherapy safety
Research: Institutional investigator involving clinical trials within the Children’s Oncology Group. Investigator of multi-institutional trials involving sickle cell disease and hemostatic disorders in children.
