Biography/ Philosophy of Care

Dr. Furlong-Dillard is an Assistant Professor for the Pediatric Critical Care department. She joined the division in July of 2018. She focused her fellowship on database research describing the outcomes of ECMO in the cardiac congenital heart disease population, as well as ECMO simulation and renal replacement therapy on ECMO. This led to the investment in the ECMO team at Norton Children’s and she is a physician leader on the ECMO education and simulation team as well as involved in research regarding anticoagulation on ECMO and plans to continue to work to develops strategies to optimize ECMO related patient care in our PICU.
